Unique Lodgings in the Ohio State Parks
Presidential Cabin, Loft Rooms, and Hot Tub Chalets
Imagine starting your morning watching sunrise reflections from the porch of the lakeside cabin where a former U.S. president found his personal solitude. Or, waking up to the chirps of migrating birds in the marsh wetlands outside of your family cabin window.
These are just some of the experiences you will find in the unique accommodations at the Ohio State Park Lodges. Maumee Bay, Deer Creek, Salt Fork, Mohican and Punderson Manor are all located within picturesque state parks and offer a little something extra for your time away from home. After all, your getaway is about more than just the destination; it is about the memories that you make there.
Historic Harding Cabin
The Historic Harding Cabin at Deer Creek State Park offers guests an authentic glimpse into the private hideaway of President Warren G. Harding. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this one-and-half-story cabin, known as The Shack, served as a personal presidential retreat for Harding in the 1920s. The restored cabin is rustic, but it is updated with modern conveniences including kitchen appliances, a gas fireplace and a washer and dryer.
The cabin accommodates eight people with three upper-level bedrooms, an open living room and oversized dining room. Outside, the full-length screened porch gives you a private view of the 1,277-acre lake where the morning sunrise steals the show.

Bunk Rooms/Loft Rooms
Bunk rooms include two double beds and a set of bunk beds. The bunk rooms at Salt Fork are available with patio and poolside walkouts for added convenience. Deer Creek offers bunk rooms with views of the woods or the lake. Both locations offer ADA accessible bunk rooms.
Loft rooms at Maumee Bay and Deer Creek accommodate larger families (up to eight people) with views of the woods, golf course, or lake.
The only thing better than enjoying the beauty of the outdoors from the comfort of your cabin is enjoying it from your hot tub at the Salt Fork chalet cabins. The two-bedroom chalets, set in the heart of Ohio’s largest state park, provide an unmatched experience when it comes to a private getaway.
Perfect for couples, friends, or families, your gas fireplace, charcoal grill, fire pit, and private hot tub on the enclosed porch set the scene for stories and memories that will last a lifetime.

Four-bedroom deluxe cottages are available, upgraded with a king bed and a hot tub. Several of the cabins are ADA accessible with roll-in showers.
The cabins are comfortably furnished to make you feel at home and include modern amenities. Relax with a book or coffee and sit back to enjoy the nature that surrounds you from the large living-room windows.
